Where Does Hawaii Stand on Renewable Energy? That's the question that will drive the discussion on our upcoming INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAII (Thurs., Feb. 6, 2014, 8:00 pm). The state's goal, under the Clean Energy Initiative, is to generate 40% renewable energy by the year 2030 - chiefly geothermal, photovoltaic, wind, and deep-ocean thermal energy. This INSIGHTS conversation will explore what kind of progress Hawaii is making in reducing our dependence on fossil fuel.
At the table with moderator Malia Mattoch will be invited guests: Scott Seu, VP, Hawaiian Electric Co.; State Rep. Cynthia Thielen (Kailua-Kaneohe Bay); Jeff Mikulina, Executive Director, Blue Planet Foundation; and Leslie Cole-Brooks, Executive Director, Hawaii Solar Energy Association.
INSIGHTS is a live public affairs show that also is available online through live streaming. We want to hear from you! Your questions and comments are welcome via phone, email, Twitter or live blogging. You may also send your questions ahead of time to firstname.lastname@example.org
