If you're Grammy-winning singer Adele's boyfriend, you're a goner if she croons: "Finally I can see you crystal clear." It's a line from her break-up song, "Rolling in the Deep," which she'll perform on a program this Saturday night on PBS Hawaii.
If you don't listen closely to the lyrics, Adele's silky voice seems to be full of love. But she's singing about getting duped and she's making threats.
"You had my heart inside your hand/And you played it to the beat," she sings. Also, "See how I'll leave, with every piece of you/Don't underestimate the things that I will do.'
No more "rolling in the deep" with that guy. I'm told that "roll deep" is a U.K. slang term for "got your back."
Watch Adele perform on LIVE FROM THE ARTIST'S DEN (Sat., April 21, 2012, at 9:00 pm) on PBS Hawaii. The venue is the Santa Monica Bay Women's Club in California. Among other songs she'll do: "Someone Like You" and "Clearing Pavements."
