Here he is--the newest, much-loved addition to our family! He's Evan Duke Keawe Cazimero, son of my daughter, Lisa and her husband, Ben Cazimero Jr. of Mililani.
Evan is a big boy--only 3-1/2-months old, he's already wearing clothing for nine-month-old babies.
Almost every parent and grandparent wonders and worries about the world that their little one is entering.
I think of our collapsed economy. And I think of the head of the Hawaii Community Foundation, Kelvin Taketa, saying: "We're re-building the plane while we're in flight." When this crisis is over, we won't go back to our old "normal."
What effect will funding shortfalls have on our educational institutions?
Fortunately, Evan and his older sister Anuhea have wonderful, caring parents (and their mom is a teacher!). I know they'll share with their keiki their positive philosophy: Be thankful for what you have and work hard to improve life for yourself and others.
But first things first, Evan--it's time to burp, take a nap and get organized to crawl!
P.S. I have a feeling that fun, curriculum-based PBS children's programs are in Evan's future...
Hi Leslie,
Can't wait to meet the big little guy. We'll be home July 29-August 7, just bought our tickets last night and are already counting the days!
