Why a CEO Blog?

I'd like to "break the glass" of the television monitor and get to know PBS Hawaii viewers. This blog offers  another way to engage and keep in touch. Please post online, or if you'd prefer, write to me at leslie@pbshawaii.org

This is great news and I look forward to reading your blog. I wonder, will there be a broadcast engineer blog as well? What about an account manager blog? I hope you encourage and support all PBS Hawai`i employees blogging. What a wonderful conversation that would be.

Blogging is best when it is a candid human conversation. Let's all talk story.

Love your suggestion, Lloyd. As a result, you will see a new blog on this website by our chief engineer, Steve Komori. He's excellent at translating technical concepts and jargon into practical lay terms. And as we move into the digital age, there'll be a lot of new things to consider. Give us a couple of weeks to get things rolling, and look for Steve's blog!

Any chance that HPTV will start internet streaming of its locally-produced shows like Olelo et al do?

By the way, updating your blog more frequently is the key to maintaining any interest in it, both for you and for the readers.

Aloha Doug,
Thanks for writing, and thanks for the reminder that blogging should be frequent, not once in a while. I look forward to more "Coffee Breaks"!
In answer to your question--our staff can't wait to get internet streaming and many other features on our website. I'm sure you've guessed the reason we don't now offer that--$$$. This is the middle of a fiscal year, and our non-profit organization is gearing up to expand and enhance our website next year.
We have a treasure trove of local footage--new stuff and classic shots of Hawaii and Hawaii people, music and arts, from decades ago. And when the election season rolls around, we'd like to offer forums live and online.

I suggest that the Ma Leahey yelling, "I don't who's at the door" and similar is not funny. No reasonable woman in Hawaii would act like that.
Otherwise the show is good.
Aloha,
Dan

When I want good programming I always go to PBS. It is one of my favorite channels.
